Safeguarding

TIBS ethos: to provide players of all ages and abilities the opportunity to play football in a fun, safe and friendly environment.

We acknowledge our responsibility for safeguarding and the welfare of every child and young person, and are committed to providing a safe environment for all members and visitors to TIBS.

A child or young person is anyone under the age of 18 engaged in any club football activity. We subscribe to The Football Association's (The FA) Safeguarding Children Policy and procedures, which can be found at thefa.com/football-rules-governance/safeguarding/policy-downloads.

We are also committed to providing a safe environment within open age football (teams with players aged 16+) and promote the welfare of all regardless of sex, age and disability.

TIBS have a detailed safeguarding policy, and we encourage all parents to read it:

  • Ensuring these responsibilities are well understood by others
  • Working with the Youth League Welfare Officer (YLWO)
  • Working with the County FA Welfare Officer
  • Promoting The FA's Respect Programme and helping to develop best practice processes
  • Helping club personnel understand what their 'duty of care' towards children and young people means and entails on a day-to-day basis

Every concern reported will be dealt with in accordance with The FA's Safeguarding Children Policy and Procedures and, if necessary, advice will be sought from the North Riding FA, to whom TIBS are affiliated.

If you believe your concern has not been dealt with in an appropriate way, you can also contact the North Riding FA Designated Safeguarding Officer, Claire Shield, on 07702 736701 or email clair.shield@northridingfa.com.
