About Us

TIBS FC is a community based, not for profit, grass roots football club between Thornaby & Ingleby Barwick, opposite the Teesside Industrial Estate. The club was established in 1997 to provide football activities for Thornaby and the developing Ingleby Barwick area.

Initially there was one team playing on one pitch, run by two coaches with no real facilities. Today TIBS is an FA Chartered Standard Development club with approaching 250 children aged 6 to 17 across approximately 25 teams, catering for all levels of ability. The club plays at its own ground with six pitches, has its own clubhouse and facilities, and is run entirely by volunteers — approximately 60 coaches and a Management Committee of eight.

The club continues to develop, including our Micros Training (for ages 3–6) and our Girls Academy, which saw the introduction of TIBS FC's first girls' teams in the 2018/19 season and continues to expand.

As a not for profit organisation, and one of the best value clubs for parents across the Teesside junior football scene, we rely heavily on our parents and their contributions through subscriptions to meet the running costs of the club. Each team is also encouraged to hold its own fund-raising events and to find sponsorship for trips, tournaments, tracksuits, jackets and the like. From the club's perspective, we look to identify Community Partners who can support the club in some way — whether financially or by helping with the maintenance and upkeep of the ground and facilities.
